Fulfilling Educational Aspirations
The Centre for Waqf, Endowment, Zakat, Khairat, and Sadaqah (WEZAS) is a strategic initiative established at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia’s Education University. It aims to foster and strengthen the culture of giving and philanthropic practices among the university community and the wider society.
A contribution platform encompassing Waqf, Endowment, Zakat, Khairat, and Sadaqah is actively driven within the university to promote the development of knowledge, welfare, and the well-being of the ummah.
Catalyzing the easing of the burden of students in need, thereby ensuring the continuity of their studies and producing graduates who are knowledgeable, virtuous, and compassionate.

Reappointment as Institutional Zakat Amil
The Center for Waqf, Endowment, Zakat, Khairat, and Sadaqah (WEZAS) has been reappointed as an Institutional Zakat Amil by the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), effective from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2026. This reappointment signifies MAIPk’s recognition of WEZAS’s capability, integrity, and commitment in managing the collection and distribution of zakat within educational institutions professionally and effectively.
